| Founded in
1934, the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS)
is a scientific association serving over 7,000 professionals members around
the world. Its’ mission is to advance knowledge and improve understanding
of mapping sciences and to promote the responsible applications of photogrammetry,
remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and supporting technologies. |

| We are the University of Georgia (UGA) Chapter of the ASPRS Mid-South Region. This chapter conducts events and activities at UGA and beyond to promote the mission and vision of the ASPRS.

| Full-time undergraduate and graduate students interested in remote sensing and GIS can join the chapter at no cost. Members of the chapter participate in remote sensing and GIS related activities, including presentations, symposia and networking.
Students are also encouraged to join ASPRS. ASPRS membership benefits include monthly issues of the PE&RS journal and scholarships, among others. |
